Hello, my name is Julie Bakos. I live in downtown Ithaca with my wonderful family.
Upon graduating from Wells College in 2005 as a Public Affairs major, we had two more children. I have a NYS Childhood Teaching Certification 1-6. Since this time I have stayed at home with my three children. After working as a long-term substitute at Dewitt Middle School in Ithaca in a 6th grade Science class, my shift in age preference began. My educational interests include but are not limited to supporting and advocating for disadvantaged and marginalized people in my community.
I enjoy gardening (vegetable & flowers), hiking, swimming, boating, skiing & most outdoor activities. My best times are around the table having wholesome meals with good friends & family. Animals and I have a long history, my grandfather rescued animals and was the local butcher. I grew-up in rural East Homer, near Truxton and now live a city life in a progressive community.
